Rolf Wolff is Professor in Management for Sustainability at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg and since 2000 Dean of the School of Economics and Commercial Law in Gothenburg.
Rolf Wolff´s research background is in business strategy and learning. The last decade he has also conducted extensive research on business related strategies incorporating environmental issues and corporate social responsibility. In this area he consulted to companies such as Volvo, Royal Dutch Shell, BP, Statoil, ICA, Skandia, etc.
During 1999-2000 Wolff co-chaired the World Business Council effort on corporate social responsibility.
Rolf Wolff has had various management positions in academia.
During 1985-88 he was the founding dean of the Faculty of Economics at Nordische Universität Flensburg. 1988 untill 1997 he founded, financed and managed GRI (Gothenburg Research Institute) the leading institute in management research in Sweden, which employs approximately 45 researchers, some of which are world leading researchers in their field.
At Copenhagen Business School he managed the Center for Environmental Management (1997-99).
In late spring 2000 he was appointed Dean of the School of Economcis and Commercial Law in Gothenburg. The school has 7000 students and approximately 550 employees in three faculty programmes: law, business and economics and informatics. Since he was appointed rector, the school has made a tremendous turn around in terms of quality, spirit, finance and international appearance.
