Andreas Norrman

Professor

Andreas Norrman holds an MSc, a Licentiate of technology and PhD Degree (Logistics and Transport Systems) from Linköping Institute of Technology. After a couple of years as management consultant with A.T.Kearney he has returned to academia and is now associate Professor at Lund Institute of Technology, and Docent of International Logistics at the Turku School of Economics and Business Administration in Finland.

His research focuses on inter- and intraorganizational aspects of logistics and Supply Chain Management. His dissertation dealt with organizational issues when centralizing physical distribution. One connected area of interest today is the relationship between changes in logistics structures, changes in business models, and their interrelation to legal and fiscal regulations.

The current research focus of Andreas Norrman is however on risks in Supply Chain, and especially how different mechanisms (e.g. contracts) can be used to share risks between companies in order to maximize the total Supply Chain effectiveness. A third research interest is “Software supply chain management”, focusing on how the relative increase of software, in comparison to hardware, impacts the supply chains in traditional manufacturing companies.

His most recent research is done in the context of very dynamic Supply chains and Industries, such as telecommunication. Since a few years his research is done within Ericsson Supply Chain Academy, collaboration between Ericsson and Lund Institute of Technology.
